    Establishment of the first Lagerhaus cooperative in Austria according to the system proposed by Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen (Pöchlarn/Lower Austria).

    The Lower Austrian Association of Rural Cooperatives (VLG) starts operating from a headquarters in Vienna.
  • 1900

    Establishment of the Styrian Association of Agricultural Cooperatives (renamed the “Styrian Association of Farmers” in 1927).
  • 1917

    Creation in Linz of the Upper Austrian Agricultural Association for Utilisation and Supply (renamed Oberösterreichische Warenvermittlung in 1946).
  • 1946

    Creation in Vienna of the federal goods headquarters of the Austrian Association of Agricultural Cooperatives (renamed ÖRWZ Österreichische Raiffeisen Warenzentrale in 1982).
  • 1992

    1st foreign participation (Agrosaat d.o.o. in Slovenia).
  • 1993

    Creation of RWA Raiffeisen Ware Austria reg.Gen.m.b.H. as a result of the merger between the provincial cooperative goods associations of Lower and Upper Austria and Styria and ÖRWZ.
  • 1994

    RWA Raiffeisen Ware Austria takes over the operational activities of the founding associations and the Österreichischen Raiffeisen Warenzentrale (ÖRWZ).
  • 1995

    RWA moves into its news headquarters in Vienna.
  • 1998

    RWA-Genossenschaft transfers its entire activities to the newly founded RWA Raiffeisen Ware Austria Aktiengesellschaft. RWA reg. Gen. m.b.H. remains the proprietary holding company.
  • 1999

    The EU gives the green light to a strategic alliance, based on a share swap, between RWA AG in Vienna and BayWa AG in Munich.
  • 2004

    The four Lagerhaus cooperatives in Burgenland become members of RWA.
  • 2008

    Raiffeisen Agro Beograd - first newly established RWA AG company outside the EU.
  • 2011

    Acquisition of the majority of Wärme Austria VertriebsgesmbH. from OMV.
  • 2012

    Establishment of the company which is now known as Austria Juice GmbH and has 14 production facilities in Austria, Germany, Denmark, Hungary, Poland, Rumania, Ukraine and China as a joint venture with Agrana Beteilungs-AG.
  • 2012

    Takeover of the majority of AFS Franchise-Systeme GmbH.
  • 2014

    The volume of agricultural products exceeds three million tonnes for the first time.
  • 2015

    Establishment of the Rumanian subsidiary RWA Romania.
  • 2016
